Health Care Champion Senator Edward Kennedy Passes Away

After a battle with brain cancer, Senator Kennedy of Massachusetts passed away on Tuesday August 25, 2009.  As Chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, Kennedy played a key role in moving the comprehensive health reform debate in Congress.  His committee’s legislation will be reconciled with the Senate Finance Committee’s health reform bill in the coming weeks.
