Improving Health Care Through Health Reform

The Commonwealth Fund’s new publication, The Path to a High Performance U.S. Health System, features the work of the Commonwealth Fund Commission on a High Performance Health System which indicates that expanding access to health insurance coverage is the single most important step the nation can take to move toward a better health care system. While reforming health care will be difficult, the Commission’s work suggests that allowing the system to continue on its current path will cause loss of coverage for millions more Americans and unrestrained increases in health care spending.
