Timeline for Health Reform

Health reform is happening quickly in Washington, D.C. Opportunities for citizen advocates to weigh in are marked with an asterisk below. We will update this page regularly with additional opportunities and details on how to take action.

• April/May: House and Senate Committees are going through their respective processes for writing reform bills. Advocates are invited to comment on Senate Finance Committee proposals.*
• Mid-June: Senate bills will be drafted and ready for mark-up; details of House schedule are less specific.*
• Late-July: Both Houses of Congress will have their health reform bills written in final draft and voted on before the August Congressional recess.
• October: Health reform is passed through Senate and House.
